My Best SEO Resources Page - That Really Work!

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a necessity for the success of any business operating online. There is a difference between having a business located in some dark alley or being located on a well-lit busy intersection. Quite simply, it is not enough just having a website; but today you need a website (business page) and to be able to drive traffic (technical SEO & digital marketing) to your business through a mix of organic and paid traffic.
So, on this page, I am sharing a mix of FREE and paid SEO resources that will help improve your understanding of SEO and inevitably the ranking and visibility of your site.

A2 Hosting has a lot to offer including Linux and Windows-based servers, SSD, caching, CDN, and SSL for all plans. Dreamhost‘s pricing is pretty transparent as there are no hidden surprises in the plans. They also provides a 97-day money back guarantee, support isn’t available 24/7 but offer live chat and tickets as an alternative. Their plans start $2.59/$3.95 per mo with SSL  and Free Domain included. Also, it should be noted that DreamHost continues to offer / provide free shared website to any 501(c)(3). 

HostGator is a hosting company with plans for almost any need. Be it if you’re starting out, or need your own dedicated machine, they can help.  more sophisticated site builders to customize their dedicated or virtual server, but also to choose Linux or Windows hosting. Hosting starts from $2.75/$3.95 mo, a 45-Day Money-Back Guarantee, hosting an array of applications from: WordPress, JoomLa, Drupal, Magento, Wiki, phpBB. (Note: I have several sites running being hosted here.)

NameCheap was founded in 2000, they are quite well known as a domain registrar. What many do not know, is they offer a full array of web hosting packages, SSL Certificates, privacy protection and much more. Hosting plans start at $2.88 / mo.  Domain Names typically cost $8.88/yr (.com) with others ranging from $1.00/yr (.xyz) on up.  (Note: Personally I do not use their hosting, but I do use them for purchasing domains.)

Niche | Hashtags | Keyword Research

All Hashtag is a website, that will help you to create and analyse fast and easy top relevant hashtags for your social media content and marketing. You can generate thousands of relevant hashtags that you simply copy and paste into your social media posts.

Ahrefs.com is a paid toolset for backlinks and SEO analysis. This has a huge following and currently stands out from many of the other similar services. Ahrefs allows you to audit your website explore competitors, research keywords & backlinks. They offers a $7 trial (for 7 days) with packages starting at $99 to $999 per month. If you are just starting, I would suggest looking at some of the other resources below. 

Answer the Public is a consumer insight tool that combines the suggested searches from Google and Bing and displays them in an easy to understand visual compilation.  It takes your specific keyword, and creates a list of commonly related questions, prepositions, comparisons, and keyword related items.

AutogramTags is a Free website tool which allows you to enter a keyword (hashtag) and it goes out and finds 30 similar hashtags for you to use. 

Google Suggest is the autocomplete function that you see when typing in something at Google.com. This function provides search suggestions to its users as they enter their search query into the search box. These autocomplete suggestions are the most common or highly searched for phrases (keywords). 

Google Trends is a website which allows you to see what is popular (trending topics) online. What makes this such a powerful tool is that the site’s results can be sorted by keyword, or by location. 

Keywords Everywhere is a free chrome extension that ties in directly with Google.com (Overlay). So when you search for something on Google, it will automatically generate related keywords, also searched for keyword phrases. Their results can be exported to CSV (Spreadsheet). To view statistical data, it requires the use of credits. To view the data from a standard keyword search can range between 8 to 54 credits. No credits are purchased not as a monthly fee; but a load and go methodology which is very affordable. As of Oct 2019, it costs $10 for 100,000 credits. That roughly a 1800+ search data – Guaranteed to keep you busy. 

KeywordTool.IO is a Free keyword research tool. This tool allows you to search by keyword with results specific to various platforms such as Google, Amazon, YouTube, Ebay, Alibaba, or etc. NOTE: Very similar to Ubersuggest – just faster. 

Keywordtool.io is a keyword research tool that  generates long tail keywords for any keyword or keyword phrase. It a tool you can always rely on and offers the option to sort your results based on specific platforms (YouTube, Bing, Amazon, Instagram, Twitter). This tool also offers keyword based questions, and prepositions. I personally suggest avoiding the paid version (other tools better suited for the price). 

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords are words that are commonly found together within a specific keyword – related to each other. The use of LSI keywords help search engines figure out the main topic of your article without having a website owner spamming the same keyword over and over. This tool comes in a FREE and Paid version. The free version should suffice for most; however their paid version ($27 / mo) offers statistics on Volume, CPC, and more. 

Ubersuggest is a free tool which helps find hundreds of niche related keywords (short and long tail keywords) in a matter of few minutes. No signup required and just straight forward information. 

Wordtracker is a FREE and Paid Keyword Planner. This planner is very helpful in revealing appropriate long-tail keywords per your search niche. Results offers the top 19 keywords for FREE while also offering a report with 10,000 results for only $27 per month. Other tools offer site insights, and analyzation.

SEOquake is a FREE plugin for your chrome browser that provides you with organic research data at the click of a button (from the Google Search Page). In-addition to organic results data, SEOquake provides other tools including an SEO Audit, Keyword Density report, Internal/External Link analysis and even social metrics. Cool part of this is that the results are displayed in a cool info bar underneath every google search link. This displays Alexa Ranking, Info from Google, Yahoo, Bing, quick whois, Number of backlinks, referring domains, page word density, and so much more. This is tool ties into SEMRUSH for a more deeper dive into the data.

SEO Minion is a FREE tool that helps you with various SEO tasks. It is a Chrome Extension Add-On and helps with various tasks such as analysis of On-Page SEO, Checks for broken Links, and a HREF Tag Link Checker. 

SEMrush is an all-in-one tool suite for improving online visibility. They offer an array of tools and reports geared toward gathering data on domains and keywords in the SEMrush database. This is a PAID tool which offers you 10 free requests to get started. Price ranges from $99.95 to $399.95 per month. 

Content Verification | Duplicate & Plagiarism Checker

Free way to analyze your website for duplicate content (within a site), broken links, internal page rank, re-directions and much more. The Free service is limited to scanning each site once every 30 days. To remove this limitation upgrade to Siteliner Premium service. Cost is roughly .01 (1¢) a scan (min of 1000 Credits = $10). 

Best known for their plagiarism function, this site is great for checking content for external duplication. For those who subcontract their content creation, Copyscape is a great way to identify authentic material. Similar to Siteliner, the premium service is roughly .01 (1¢) a scan (min of 1000 Credits = $10). 

Images & Audios | Screen Capture | Royalty Free

Royalty FREE music and audio tracks as low as $1.oo.  When I needed some unique (not overly used audios), I can typically find what I need here. Although they offer $1 audios, figure on spending between $15 and $20.

Free source for free audio files consisting of unique music, sound effects, and voice scripts. This site offers an array of quality audios compiled from professional audio engineers, to your hobbyists. 

Full Page Screen Capture is a tool that I use quite often when I need to take a FULL image shot in one step. I wrote a complete article on the use and install of the Chrome add-on. Read Article

LightShot is another one of those tools I use often to take a screenshots of part of the whole viewable screen. Easy install and ties directly with your keyboard  [PRT/SCR] button. Available for MAC and Windows.

Offers Free photos and videos! Straight out the gates, Pexel clearly states that all of the photos on Pexels are free to use, no attribution is required, modify the photos all you want!… but of course giving credit to the photographer is always appreciated. 

Pixabay is definitely a go to site when looking for images to keep you out of trouble. Images are completely free however limited to Pixabay License (ie commercial use or not). Nice option to Pixabay is that most images are offered in multiple widths minimizing any additional image editing. 

If you tend to make a lot of video ads, then I would suggest looking at Promo.  Promo is geared toward making video ads that are truly easy to create and tweak. They offers an array of standardized and premium video clips under a subscription system starting at $29 per month. You have limited access to the Premium clips (12 clips a year); but unlimited access to the standardized clips meaning unlimited video downloads. 

Storyblocks offers very high quality audios, videos, and images. Unfortunately they are a subscription based service payable monthly or annually. Some awesome landscaping videos and aerial drone footage. 

StockSnap is another site I recommend for finding Free stock photos. They are offered in their original photo dimensions (usually over 3000 pixels wide). 

Need some FREE music, take a look at YouTube’s Royalty FREE Audio Library. They offer a variety of audio clips including various sound  effects. 

This site offers low cost video clips of various topics and niches. Some videos start as low as $6. Pricing based on individual videos.

Submission | Site Monitoring Tools

Bing Webmaster Tools is a FREE service as part of Microsoft’s Bing search engine which allows webmasters to add their websites to the Bing index crawler (submission tool). This tool covers submission for Yahoo as well. 

Google Search Console (GSC) has been around and used to be known as Google Webmaster Tools before Google did some re-branding. Now GSC is a free service that helps you evaluate and maintain your website’s performance in Google’s search results. This resource is a great way for you to pickup insights into how your website is performing and helps uncover issues that need fixing.

PageSpeed Insights analyzes the content of a web page, then generates suggestions to make that page faster. As we all know, Google considers page speed and performance a factor in ranking. (Free Tool)

Yandex is a Russian-based search engine. This link allows you to submit your website to their search database.
